If your name is not on the Approved List below, you may be on the waiting list.  Please reread the homepage section on this website for more information about the waiting list. 

The Illinois State Board of Education will directly pay NBPTS $2,000 for each Illinois candidate on the Approved List contingent on the candidate paying the initial $500 within 2 weeks.

If your name is on the list below, you have been approved for the Illinois NBPTS Candidate Fee Subsidy contingent on you paying NBPTS $500 within 2 weeks of notification.  Please return to the NBPTS website www.nbpts.org under Candidate Profile to pay $500.  You do not need to email us.  We will be able to see that you made the payment.  The Illinois State Board of Education will pay the $2,000 NBPTS Candidate Fee directly to NBPTS for candidates who make the $500 initial non-refundable payment to NBPTS within 2 weeks of notification.  You can check for the $2,000 payment at the NBPTS website under Candidate Profile.  The payments will begin to show up in your profile at the end of July or beginning of August.
