Concentrations in Higher Educational Administration within Educational Administration

The Department of Educational Administration & Foundations (EAF) is the oldest graduate program in the University and also has the largest number of doctoral graduates. With academic concentrations in K-12 School Administration, Statistics and Research, as well as Higher Educational Administration, the EAF Department is recognized for its leadership in educational administration and for its strong relationships with schools, colleges, universities, and state higher education agencies.

The Department has been a leader in offering graduate studies to cohorts of Doctoral Students who have completed much of their coursework off-campus at several sites throughout Illinois and also in Thailand.

The Department maintains a presence in Springfield, the State Capital, with research and outreach efforts in educational policy, associations, and state government. The Department sponsors a national journal, Planning & Changing; a Web Site of interstate higher education finance data, Grapevine; and the Center for the Study of Education Policy (formerly Educational Finance and Higher Education).

It is the mission of the Department of Educational Administration & Foundations, through its concentrations in Higher Education, to prepare students to assume leadership roles in colleges, universities, and associations in positions related to student services (master’s degree preparation) and major leadership roles in higher educational institutions and associations (Doctoral Degree).

In the Department of Educational Administration & Foundations (EAF), Higher Education is an academic concentration within Educational Administration at both master’s and doctoral levels.
