Knowledge of Geography Dimension

Level four responses:

demonstrate a depth of understanding of geographic skills, facts, and principles that exceeds that of Level Three.

consistently show accurate recall and interpretation of geographic knowledge and appropriate application of skills in relevant situations.

reflect the development of an extensive knowledge base in geography that allows analysis of complex spatial issues and the formulation of multiple solutions to social and environmental problems.

depict a world that is a composite of multiple, integrated, and interrelated human and physical systems that naturally strive for balance.

reveal an understanding that excessive human intervention in earth's systems can affect quality of life.

show that students are able to apply geographic principles to evaluate complex situations set in a global context, view the world from multiple perspectives, and understand different cultural reactions to like situations.


Organization and Development Dimension

Level four responses:

are always on topic, coherent, fully developed and supported with accurate and relevant information, including examples, explanations, and generalizations.

contain ideas that show progression of thought and depth of understanding of a topic.
